The Luke Man's First Trip To The Zoo!

We are now proud members of the Indianapolis Zoo :)

Luke had his first trip to the zoo last week!  I was excited because it was a Monday and I thought that it wouldn't be as crowded as the weekend...WRONG!!! I think the whole world thought it was a perfect day for the zoo too! It was still a fun day though!  Luke was not only intrigued with the animals, but all the people!  Definitely a LOT for him to check out!

started with the seals...loves to point :)

 watching the penguins :)

takin' in the sharks with dad :)

one of the animals that wasn't sleeping while we were there...the best part was when Adam told Luke that the antelope was a baby giraffe...lol! Not quite sure if he was joking or serious...we will give him the benefit of the doubt on that one! ;)

just got done seein' the rhinos!
totally forgot how huge they are!

walking around in the dolphin aquarium...one of the dolphins just had a baby so there were no dolphin shows...hope to catch one next time!

lovin' summer...

It has been so great to have Adam home for summer!  It's so nice for Luke to have some daddy time...especially because once August hits he won't be around much!

Here are a few pics from the last few days!

chillin' in my REDS tee with dad :)

we got Luke a bat...probably won't be an indoor toy for too long...he loves to carry it around everywhere and loves for his dada to show him how to swing :)  Our little Babe Ruth!
 charge..

our very own bam bam :)

 sweet boy

 two bats...getting kinda crazy! lol

 well hello :)

 my litte stud muffin

It was such a beautiful day to day!  It was about time we had some nice weather!  We tried to spend as much time outside as we could!  I trimmed some shrubs and pulled weeds and came across this flower that broke off from the wind...amazing how the most random things can be so entertaining...I think Luke played with the flower branch for at least 20 minutes :)

my baby is 11 months old!!!!!!

Another month has flown by...it is so crazy that I have a 11 month old!  All I think about when I think of 11 months is that he is going to be ONE in a month!  I keep thinking back to last year this time and how I was counting down the weeks until we would get to meet our bundle of joy!  I can't explain how grateful I am to have him in my life...he is truely a gift from God!

these pics are from yesterday...this is what I managed to get for his 11 month photos...we see a lot of his back side these days...and I caught him on the move so I could get his face :)

Luke is definitely our wild man...I feel like I might have mentioned this  before...lol.  He is just so full of energy and is constantly on the go!  He is such a good little guy though and he never fails to melt my heart at least once a day :)  His big thing right now is to give me hugs...which is
THE BEST THING EVER!  He will randomly just walk over and put his arm on me and his head on my shoulder...how could you not melt over that!?!  So precious!

We have always had dance parties since Luke was a few weeks old...and he is definitely picking up on it!  He loves to dance around...his dancing consists of him bobbin up and down with one hand in the air!  But he is now bringing his dance moves into the car~when I was driving home last night I turned the radio on and his song came on "dynamite"...I looked in the mirror and I see one hand in the air and him bouncing up and down in his carseat...it was ADORABLE!  Then this morning adam saw him doing the same thing only this time he was drinking his bottle, bouncing and had a hand up!
We think its pretty cute!
(I know everyone thinks their kid is doing something so cute...lol. I am so one of those parents now...haha)

Some other Luke fun facts... :)
-the sitter told me that Luke figured out how to pull the oven door open (it wasn't on) She said he has been the first kid to ever do that at her house...leave it to Luke!
-he loves to pull everything out of any tub, cabinet, laundry basket or book shelf
-he figured out his touch and feel farm book and knows exactly where to feel the soft fabric and different textures
-he loves balls and is learning to throw...usually he throws it behind him, but he is still catching on ;)
-tonight when I was putting clothes away I would ask him to "hand it to mom" and he would actually give it to me :) and then I would hand it back and say "hand it to bay" and he would turn around and drop it on baylee...he is really starting to pick up on things...such a smart cookie...haha
-he loves to pull his own shirt over his head and pull
it back down for peek-a-boo...he thinks he is so funny! (and he really is ;)

Here are a few pics from memorial day...

this didn't last long...wasn't feelin the pool that day

he would rather hold baylee's leash :)

TOUCHDOWN :)
we headed to brandt and sarah's for a cookout that afternoon...fun times!
this is Luke's soon-to-be partner in crime, Mason :)  gotta love these boys!

trip to Outer Banks, NC

We headed to the Outer Banks (NC) last week!  It was a total blast!  The only thing that could have made it better was Adam being able to go!  Unfortunately, all the snow days that he had made it pretty much impossible for him to come along :(

I was a little nervous for the long drive with Luke, but again, Luke never fails to amaze me...he did great!  I am sure a lot had to do with the fact we left at his bedtime and he slept the majority of the way!  I am super thankful that my dad would rather drive at night and wanted to do what would work best for Lukey!

I absolutely loved Outer Banks!  I definitely want to go back!  It was such a fun trip with my parents, sis, aunts, uncle, grandma and cousins! (there were 15 adults, 7 dogs, and Luke all together ;)  We rented a 9 bedroom house and it worked out great!  Luke was of course one of the main attractions being the only baby :)  So even though I didn't have my hubby I definitely had a lot of help!  I truely think Luke had an absolute blast with everyone too!  He loved the pool and ocean in Florida 6 weeks ago and continued to like it there too!  I know that kiddos change overnight so I was wondering how he would be.  It was especially fun that he could now walk on the beach...which he thought was super fun! (and pick up shells)  He just poddled around jabbering away!  He was my little beach bum...loved being at the pool and beach!  (a boy after my own heart ;)

 this was our house

my aunts, mom, grandma and cousin...these floats were great!

I got Luke his own baby pool...he really wasn't in it at all...he had bigger fish to fry ;) but he liked the hose that filled it up!
